While continuing to work as an airline mechanic for United Airlines during the 4:00 p.m. to midnight shift, Baldino's Lock and Key Service, Inc began to blossom during the day. For two years from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., it truly was a family business, as Mr. Baldino, his wife, Doris, and sons Mark and Gary worked in a little shed under the backyard treehouse to establish the new locksmith shop near Fort Belvoir VA.
As the business grew, Mr. Baldino left his position as airline mechanic to devote his full attention to the now burgeoning Baldino's Lock and Key, Inc.
Although the first commercial space for Baldino's was no wider than two double doors and 16 feet deep, locksmith service requests in Fort Belvoir VA continued to grow rapidly.

After graduating from college, both sons Mark Baldino and Gary Baldino returned to the locksmith business as partners and full time employees servicing the Fort Belvoir VA area.
